STAT Exam Reminders

Our Radiologists are encountering challenges with communicating STAT findings as a result of not having clinician names and phone numbers included within the RIS entry. Please double-check that this information in included within RIS; the entry is not complete without this information.

As every minute can be critical in a life or death situation, a call to the main line (308-865-2231) in addition to marking an exam as STAT in RIS during online order helps to ensure your STAT has our attention right away. We are not routinely receiving these calls for STAT exams. Please remember to call promptly for STAT requests.

Additionally, we would ask that you make specific mention when sending an exam with stroke or trauma protocol so that it can go to the top of the Radiologist's worklist.

Auto-Verification Reminders (for all Routines & STATs)

1. When you auto-verify, you are sending the study straight to the Radiologist. If there is incorrect data included, or if data is missing, it won't be corrected before the Radiologist sees the study.
2. If any paperwork still needs to be attached, or if prior exams need to be merged to use for comparison, please do not auto-verify.
3. If you do auto-verify, please double check that the Study UID is displayed in RIS first. You'll find this field within the "Procedure" tab of RIS, underneath the "Procedure Notes" field where you enter your initials. If the Study UID is not displayed, please call the office.
